Tony LaCava Named General Manager of the Blue Jays
Blue Jays fans were shocked when Alex Anthopoulos left the front office after such a memorable season, and bold off-season moves.
Jamie Campbell of Sportnet Toronto is now reporting the the Blue Jays are set to hire Tony LaCava as Anthopoulos’s replacement. This is expected to be on an interim bases.
LaCava is currently the Director of Player Development for the Blue Jays, and has been on a quick rise. The Baltimore Orioles also had interest, and may still be in the running should the Blue Jays decide to look elsewhere next season.
This quick move should temporarily settle the front office turmoil in Toronto.
This season for the Blue Jays included a drastic turnaround after being by far the most active team at the trade deadline. The Blue Jays then acquired Troy Tulowitzki and David Price. Soon after they went on an incredible run to win the AL East, and always challenging division.
Having the Blue Jays competitive is always good for baseball as it is the only team with a nation behind it.
