The KC Royals front office believes former no. 5 overall draft choice (2011) Bubba Starling is close to his big league debut, according to MLB.com reporter Jeffrey Flanagan. Starling has enjoyed a breakthrough at the plate in 2015, slashing .386/.471/.614 at High A, .254/.318/426 at AA NW Arkansas, and .274/.330/.440 in the Arizona Fall League…
With Bubba Starling, the Kansas City Royals prove again that their deep minor league system can remedy the deficiencies of their Major League roster.  The Royals may have to deal with the departure of Alex Gordon and Ben Zobrist.  With Larenzo Cain and Bubba Starling in the outfield, the Royals should be just fine, although I don't expect Starling to make an immediate offensive impact given his low .245 batting average at the minor league level. He also happens to have one of the best baseball names I've ever heard.
