Rangers’ Adrian Beltre Played Through Injury
Beltre was plagued by the injury for the final three months of the regular season. Adrian Beltre played through an injury throughout the final three months of the regular season and into the postseason. According to Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News, Beltre played the second half of the season with a torn thumb ligament and is still unsure if the injury will require surgery. Although the club knew Beltre injured his thumb, the severity of the injury was unclear. Beltre initially got hurt at the end of June but played notably well throughout the second half. He hit .318 to complement 11 home runs after the All-Star break and posted a .287/.334/.453 batting line to complement 18 home runs and 83 RBIs over 143 games with Texas.
