Baltimore Orioles reliever Darren O’Day isn’t going anywhere. O’Day re-upped with Baltimore on a four-year deal worth a reported $31 million on Sunday, ending a busy courtship that included interest from the Nationals and Braves.

had been linked to a number of teams, the least of which was the Baltimore Orioles. O'Day was clearly the best free agent relief pitcher on the market with a 1.52 era in 65.1 innings in 2015.
The market continues to lift the value of relief pitchers as teams see a deep bullpen as a more affordable run prevention option. These kinds of four year contracts are the new standard for top relievers.
