The sides could match up on a deal that would send Markakis back to Baltimore after a year with the Braves. The Braves are known to be shopping their outfielders this offseason, and Nick Markakis may be on the move. According to recent reports from Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com and David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Orioles may have interest in pursuing a reunion with Markakis, who left Baltimore and signed with the Braves last offseason.
The fire sale continues, maybe.  There's not much analysis regarding the Braves willingness to trade Nick Markakis.  The Braves seems to be looking to turn over their entire roster. The Baltimore Orioles interest in bringing back Markakis also makes sense. Markakis only hit 3 home runs last year, so the Orioles probably wouldn't have to give up a whole lot to get him.  He is, however, still an on-base machine and would add depth to the Baltimore lineup. This may also be a contingency plan in the case that the Orioles are not able to bring back Chris Davis.  Either way, this trade rumor seems like a reasonable scenario.
