MLB Marlins Rumors: Miami to Hire Barry Bonds as Hitting Coach
The Miami Marlins are likely to hire Barry Bonds as one of their two hitting coaches, as reported by Bob Nightengale of USA today, and confirmed by Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.
Barry Bonds, with negotiations not yet finalized, tentatively plans to accept the #Marlins offer to be hitting coach with Frank Menechino.

Barry Bonds would be a co-hitting coach with Frank Menechio. Dexter Fowler has been one of Bonds’ students that last two offseasons and thinks very highly of him.
Mattingly, Menechino all in on Bonds, if it works. Dexter Fowler will testify as Barry’s student last 2 winters

Like the Mark McGwire hiring, this is very controversial. Barry Bonds has been of course clouded in steroid controversy. The Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria, however, is known for his questionable player transactions. A move like this is not surprising for someone like him.
