The Kansas City Royals are close to signing free agent reliever Joakim Soria.
The Royals have been the example by which other teams strive to model their bullpen after. Their relief core has been hands down the best in baseball over the last three years. Unfortunately for them once dominant closer Greg Holland become a non-tender after undergoing Tommy John surgery. In an effort to compensate for that loss the Royals are close to signing right-handed reliever Joakim Soria to a three year, $25 million deal.
Now this is just unfair.  The Kansas City Royals are strengthening what is probably the best bullpen in the game?! The Royals did lose Greg Holland, but it's clear that other teams still need to beat them before the 7th inning. Joakim Soria had a 2.54 era in 67.2 innings in 2015. Nice signing by the Royals. Soria will now reunite with the club that brought him so much early success.
