Update:

The Angels send Trevor Gott and a minor leaguer to the Nationals, as reported by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Yet another surprise with this move, as Gott was a solid young arm out of the bullpen for the Angels in 2015 with a 3.02 era. A lot to give up for -11 defensive runs saved, but perhaps Escrobar’s offensive ability is worth it.

The Los Angeles Angels have acquired infielder Yunel Escrobar from the Washington Nationals, as reported by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Escrobar was great offensively last year for the nationals. He hit .314 with a .375 on-base-percentage. Defensively, however, he was aweful with -11 defensive runs saved. Given the fact that he is a defensive liability, This move is a bit of a surprise from Billy Eppler. Especially if they plan to play him every day at either second or third base.
